The first leg of the second round was played today for the League Cup and for most of the higher divisions teams, it went according to the script with them getting a win over their opponent. Of course, not everything went according to the script with Coventry being one of the higher divisions teams to lose as they lost from a substitution against Bradford with Scott Patridge being the goal scorer there.
Other results that were noticeable did include:
- Hartlepool winning 2-0 over second-tier side Portsmouth at home
- Leyton Orient’ player, Mark Cooper getting a double to get his team a 2-0 win over second-tier side Barnsley.
